Agung Wicaksono, MSc, Research & Development
PT Pupuk Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia
Hi young leaders, my name is Agung Wicaksono. I graduated a Master of Science from the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences at Seoul National University in South Korea. I’m passionate about the environment, education, science and social research, and youth development. Being born and raised in Indonesia, I have witnessed how development is overly focused on economic growth. As a consequence, Indonesia has been entering an urban era with many people moving to the cities. This urbanization has had a negative impact, such as poverty and environmental degradation. That is why I am encouraged to have a concrete role in the sustainable urbanization of Indonesia by contributing long-term solutions. My interest in urban environmental studies started in 2010 when I built a community development program for destitute children in slum areas.
